A great French viola made by the renowned firm Jerome Thibouville-Lamy in Mirecourt at the beginning of the 20th Century.

This viola is their Copie de Antonio Stradivarius model, very popular and always of superb quality craftsmanship.

JTL were one of the bigger employers in Mirecourt for violin and instrument making and drew upon the expertise and skill of its founders Louis Emile Jérôme Thibouville, Charles-Claude Husson and Charles Buthod. They produced a large number of instruments at different price points and qualities and every one has stood the test of time, still representing incredible quality and value for money.  The "copie de" range of instruments is JTL's middle quality offering, costing 30 francs in 1912, twice that of their entry grade Celebre Voisgien range.

This viola is in good condition with no cracks or damage and is professionally set up by our luthier to the very highest of standards.

Ideal for a student or someone starting out on viola this would be the perfect springboard to a promising career or hobby as a violist.

As always with our student grade instruments we are happy to purchase them back in the future against an upgrade.

The length of the back is 406 mm.
