A superb violin by Honoré Derazey circa 1860.  This is a great example of Honoré's work from his Paris years.

Derazey was a prolific maker for several ateliers in Paris in the mid 19th Century. He quickly established his own workshop in Mirecourt and won several awards in Paris and London for his work.  Many of his instruments were sold through J. B. Vuillaume who inserted his own label which occasionally mislead experts to belive Derazey's work to be that of Vuillaume himself! Just highlighting the quality of Derazey's instruments.

This violin has a warm mellow tone with a fantastic bottom end and crystal clear highs . A worthwhile investment.

The length of the back is 356 mm.

Honoré Derazey, Paris circa 1860
