A fine German violin most likely made by Ernst Heinrich Roth in Markneukirchen around the 1920s.

It's a very beautiful violin, the back being made from a slab cut of maple which gives the the flame on the back a beautiful rippled, quilted effect common on Roth violins.

The tone is very focused, precise and full of power with plenty of brightness and complexity.

Labelled to the interior Copy of Johann Georg Hellmer, Made in Germany.

The length of the back is

E H Roth, Markneukirchen Circa 1920
