Charles Nicolas Bazin was an important maker in the French Mirecourt school of bow making. His father, Francois Xavier, ran a large workshop in Mirecourt who unfortunately died when Charles was aged only 18, leaving him to run the workshop on his own.
Charles made a large success of it and the workshops of Charles Nicolas Bazin became highly regarded and were responsible for producing some of the best bows and bow makers of the period including the Fetique brothers.
This bow is a great example of Charle's work in good condition. Sold with the certificate of authenticity from the renowned bow expert Pierre Guillaume.
A fine playing stick and good fun to use.
