A violin by the London maker E. Whitmarsh, circa 1900. This violin is in almost new condition showing no signs of use or wear. The oil varnish is immaculate and typical of English makers in this period. Deep orange, red and brown in colour, full of depth and character. The back is a vivid, highly figured flamed maple and the front is of evenly grained pine. The f holes are very characteristic and quite unusual.

The tone is superb, very even across all the strings, bright and woody, full of character.

The length of the back is 354 mm.
